Kreta insel:
Zwinschen Griechenland und Afrika gelegen, ist die funftgrosste Insel in Mittelmeer eine welt fur sie.
Kreta insel ist so gross, dass man sie in einem Urlaub kaum vollig kennen lernen kann.Von West nach Ost misst Kreta 260km, von Nord nach Sud bis zu 60km. Vier Gebirgsmassive praägen Kreta- Im Westen die Weíßen Berge mit dem 2453m hohen Páchnes, östlich davon das Ida gebirge mit dem 2456m hohen Timios Stavros , im mittleren Osten schließlich das 1476m hohe Sitia Gebirge. In einegen wie der Lassithi und der Chandras hochebene wird das ganye Jahr über intensiv Landwirtschaft betrieben.
Auf Kreta leben etwa 90000 Menschen. Mehr als 250000 von ihnen wohnen in Großraum der insel hauptstadt Iraklion. Iraklion mit seinen Kirchen, Museen, Märkten und schönen Plätzen. Fast alle Insel Städte liegen an der Nordküste. Inbesondere ywinschen Iraklion und Agios Nikolaos, wo einege der schönsten der Insel liegen, musste die Natur yumeist eifallslosen Großhotels und kleinen Pensionen weichen.
Flora-Zwinschen April und Juni zeigt Kreta boden, was er alles hervorbringen kann, wenn es den Wasser gibt. Dqa brühen Obst und Mandelbäume, Graatapfel, und Ginster, Oleander und Kastanien. Im sommer Hängen die Trauben schwer an den Weinstöcken, die neben den 15 Mio. Olivenbäumen die wichtigste Kulturpflanye auf der Insel sind.
Minos-Wie die Kreter des zweiten vorchrislichen Jahrtrausends ihren obersten Herrscher nannten, wissen wir nicht. In der gechischen hr.wird er Minos genannt. Minos ist danach auch des Minoischen Reiches. Die Griechen sahen in ihm einen sohn ihres Göttervaters Zeus und der phönizischen Königstochter Europa, die Zeus in Getsalt eines Stieres nach Kreta entfürt hatte.
Religion-Fast alle Kreter bekennen sich yum griechischßOrthodoxen Christentum.
Tsikoudia-Der Tsikoudia-oder Raki-ist das Nationalgetränk der Kreter.
Venizelos-Eleftherios Venizelos, 1864 in Chania geboren, war der bedeutendste Politiker Kretas.
Musik ist auf Kreta überall zu hören.Echte kretische Musik jedoch hat mit Kretana und anderen Melodien. Die typischen Instrumente der kretischen Folklore sind die Lyra und die Lauto. Die Musik klingt für unsere Ohren schon sehr orientalisch. Die vielen verschiedenen, fast nur von Männern volführten Tänze sind feurig und verlangen den Tänzern oft artistische Fähigkeiten ab.
Kreter gehen fast nie allein oder nur mit ihren Elepartnern zum Essen aus. Das Essen ist eine soziale und gesellige Angelegenheit.Es schmeckt am besten in einer großen Tischgemeinschaft. Dass auch die Kinder dazugehören, ist eine Selbstverständlichkeit.
